Project Backround

The North Western Health Board ( now HSE ) required a purpose built Primary Care Health Centre on a prominent Greenfield Site located on the existing NHWB Campus at Barrack St., Sligo. 3 Local Medical practices re-located to the building to be integrated with HSE community facilities under one roof.

Project Description

The Brief was challenging as the specific needs of 5 end users ( 4 Clients and the Public ) were required to be met within a single building on a constricted sloping site. The Medical Practice Buildings were conceived as fingers on a hand, radiating from a communal Public Foyer which is also accessed by the Community Care Building. Building Area = 4000m2

The entrance to the building is within easy walking distance of the existing HSE Building nearby. Escape Stairs to the Medical Blocks double as coded private access for Doctors from the private parking to the lower part of the Site. Shared Conference rooms, Archive and Storage areas are located at Ground Floor level.
